John Ritter, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Vidumsky) Ritter. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace A. Ritter, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2018.
John was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and spent most of his working life as a plumber, a career he dedicated himself to until his retirement. His greatest joy in life was always his family. John was happiest when surrounded by those he loved, and nothing meant more to him than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He treasured the simple moments spent together, the laughter shared, and the memories made along the way.
John is survived by his daughters, Laurie Venable and her husband, Ray; Cynthia Ritter; and Kristen VanZandt and her husband Tygh; his son John Ritter, and his wife, Kim; his sisters Margaret Vresics and Cathy Spitzig and her husband Ned; his beloved grandchildren, Nicole (James), Brian (Auria), John (Brittany), Evan, Logan, Mason, Roman, Tygh, and Lauryn; as well as his great-grandchildren, Josie, Jack, Cooper, and Emma. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Fereno.
John will be remembered for the love he shared and the special place he held in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. Though he is now reunited with his beloved Grace, their love and the family they built together will live on for generations to come. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
