Andrusyshyn
Oct 10, 1957 — Jun 11, 2025
Joan Elsie Andrusyshyn, a lifelong beacon of compassion and joy, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born on October 10, 1957, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, she was a cherished daughter, loving wife, and a caring sister whose warm presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Joan's early life in Bethlehem was marked by the deep bonds she formed with her family and community. Her parents, the late John Franklin Stier and Adele Arlene (Paulovich) Stier, instilled in her a profound sense of kindness that would define her life's work. She shared a special connection with her sister Gayle of Hellertown and fondly remembered her half-sister, Betty. Joan's dedication to her family was further exemplified in her marriage of 38 years to her beloved husband, Stephen John Andrusyshyn of Fountain Hill, whose love and support were her constant strength.
A proud graduate of Liberty High School, Joan's nurturing spirit led her to a fulfilling career in healthcare. She devoted over 30 years as a Nurse's Aide and Nurse's Clerk at Cedarbrook Fountain Hill and Phoebe, Allentown. Her selfless service and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the many lives she touched. Joan's work was not just a job; it was a testament to her enduring compassion and empathy for those in her care.
Beyond her professional life, Joan's passions were simple yet profound. She had an enduring love for animals, finding joy in the companionship and unconditional love they offered. Her appreciation for nature's beauty was reflected in her love of flowers, which she tended to with a gentle hand and a keen eye. Joan's zest for life also found expression through her enjoyment of shopping, where she delighted in the hunt for the perfect gift or treat for herself and those she loved.
Joan's social nature shone brightly when gathering with family and friends for dinner. These occasions were not just about the food but about the laughter, stories, and memories created around the table. Her presence was a source of comfort and happiness, and her absence will leave a void that cannot be filled.
