Janet L. Shannon, 74, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Born on May 26, 1952, in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Henry N. and Hilda (Zieger) Shannon.

Janet worked for the Lehigh County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired and later for Family Answers (Compeer). She was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Allentown, where she served as a Scripture reader and sang in the Sanctuary Choir. She was also a past president of the VIABL Activity Group.

Janet enjoyed following the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and Lehigh Valley IronPigs. She was also an avid reader.

She is survived by relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill, PA 18015, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11 A.M. until time of the service.
