Jane Ryan
Johnson
Sep 24, 1935 — Jun 8, 2025
Jane Ryan Johnson, a radiant source of love and laughter, passed away on June 8, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on September 24, 1935, in Fountain Hill, Jane's life was a beautiful tapestry, woven together with joy, humor, and an unwavering commitment to her family.
The journey of Jane's life began as the bright-eyed daughter of the late Gerald and Loretta (McGarr) Ryan. A proud graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School in 1953, she went on to further her education at Allentown Business School. Jane's career was as varied as her interests, with work spanning from Bethlehem Steel and Fountain Hill Mills to Dorney Furniture and the financial services industry.
Her late husband, Gervase Johnson, was the fortunate man who shared in the joy and love that Jane radiated. Together, they built a family that became the cornerstone of her life: Patricia Jane Johnson, and her husband Nick Ampietro; Gerald Francis Johnson, and his wife Linda; David Bryan Johnson, and his wife Donna; and Loretta Ann Wood, and her husband Peter. Jane's legacy flourished with her beloved grandchildren: Kels, Trevor, Ben, Aimee, Kayla, Victoria, Nicholas, Leo, and Nicolas, along with her cherished great-grandchildren: Clara Jane, Marie, Myla, Isaac, and Declan. Her large and loving circle of nieces and nephews further enriched her world. Preceding her in death were her son, Michael Johnson, and her siblings Joan, Jean, Geraldine, and Mary.
A devout member of both St. Ursula Catholic Church and Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Jane's love for her family was as deep as her appreciation for a fine cup of English tea, the warmth of her home, and the pride she took in her Irish heritage.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jane would describe her as loving, kind, and funny—though these simple words hardly do justice to the remarkable woman she was. Her laughter was the soundtrack to countless family gatherings, and her wit and humor, even in the toughest of times, were gifts that brought light and joy to all. Jane's ability to make any room brighter with her charm and spirit will be remembered by all who loved her.
