James Smythe, a proud and loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, passed away at his home in Bethlehem on July 20, 2025, at the age of 64. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Herbert and Mary (Gitto) Smythe.

A skilled carpenter by trade, Jim was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and eye for detail. He was also a passionate fan of all the Philadelphia sports teams—especially the Eagles.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Michael Smythe (Julie) and Fran Smythe (Nicole); his sister, Carol Dunleavy (Tom); his brother, Rich Smythe (Eileen); as well as his grandchildren, niece, and nephews.
