Obituary

James Carl Wooden Jr., affectionately known as Jim to his friends and family, passed away at his residence in Easton, PA, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on July 1, 1962, in Kalamazoo, MI, Jim was a man of integrity, warmth, and intelligence whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Jim grew up in Kalamazoo and after graduating from Mattawan High School, he proudly served his country in the Air Force for a decade. His dedication to his nation was unwavering, and his experiences in the service shaped much of his character. After retiring from his military service as Staff Sergeant, he was recognized as one who helped pioneer internet service providers with BBS System EVNET (Eifenville) in the nascent days before AOL became a household name. He furthered his education by receiving his Bachelor's Degree Summa Cum Laude in Computer Networking from Strayer University.

Jim was a devout member of the Church of Nazarene in Bangor, PA. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, and he actively participated in Men's Bible Study and Friday Night Bible Study groups. His love for his church community was evident in the way he lived his life, always striving to embody the teachings of his faith. He was also a member of American Legion.

Jim's interests stretched beyond his professional and spiritual life. He was an avid fan of science fiction, with a particular fondness for "Lord of the Rings" and "Star Wars" and could often be found building intricate worlds with his beloved Legos. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were a reflection of Jim's imaginative spirit and his love for storytelling.

Family was the fabric of Jim's life, and he was a constant source of strength, love, and guidance. His wisdom, humor, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jim's life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of family, and the joy of embracing one's passions. As we say goodbye, we celebrate this remarkable man, James Carl Wooden Jr., and the indelible mark he left on this world. His spirit will forever be cherished and remembered in the hearts of his loved ones.
