James C.
Strawn
Dec 4, 1946 — Aug 28, 2025
James C. Strawn, a man of honor, courage, and deep devotion to his family, passed away on August 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Bethlehem on December 4, 1946, to the late Robert and Anna (Willhelm) Strawn, James grew up with the strong values that guided him throughout his life.
He proudly served as a combat veteran in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, carrying his bravery and dedication into civilian life. After his service, he built a long career in construction with Bethlehem Fabricators, Posh Construction, and L.V. Installers, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and integrity.
James shared over 20 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Valeria A. (Evans) Strawn, and was a devoted father to Jacob J. Strawn and his wife, Sheila Ehret. His greatest joy was becoming a grandfather to James Robert Strawn, who brought him immense pride. He also shared a lifelong bond with his sister, Barbara Strawn, a source of comfort and strength.
An avid outdoorsman, James cherished time at his Lake Wallenpaupack cabin, where he enjoyed camping, hunting, and working with his hands. Whether fixing or creating, he pursued every project with passion and care.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. James' arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka KS 66675.
