J Hubert
Pierce
May 17, 1932 — May 27, 2025
J Hubert Pierce, a patriarch and member of the New Tripoli community, passed away peacefully at his home on May 27, 2025, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 17, 1932, in Pocopson, Pennsylvania, Hub's life was marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and
a passion for his work and hobbies.
Hub's early years in Chadds Ford laid a firm foundation for a life characterized by hard work and resilience. He was a proud Marine, serving his country with honor and setting an example of patriotism and commitment. Following his military service, Hub had a few different jobs before embarking on a career as a heavy equipment operator, a role he performed with skill and dedication for many years until his retirement. His professional life was further distinguished by his active membership in Local #542 Union.
Family was the cornerstone of Hub's life. He is survived by his beloved children, Robin Schweke and Kimberly Pierce of New Tripoli, and Scott Pierce (wife Ashlee) of Slatington. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Allyson, Beth, Kyle, Julian, and Sarena (fiancé Matt), as well as his adored great-granddaughter, Juniper. Hub was a source of strength and wisdom for his family, and his humor and love will be sorely missed.
He is predeceased in death by his loving wife Barbara L. (Kerchner) Pierce of 62 years before her passing on December 8, 2023, his parents, Norman Pierce and Sydney (Williamson) Pierce, and his brothers: John Williamson "Bill" Pierce, James Alfred Pierce, Norman Luther Pierce, Walter Y. Pierce, Samuel A. Pierce, and Harry Wesley Pierce, as well as his sisters, Dorothy Neff, Betty Leto, and Sydney Wood.
In addition to his family and career, Hub had a profound impact on his community. He was a respected boy scout leader. His love for woodworking not only showcased his incredible talent but also served as a testament to his patience and attention to detail. Hub's hobbies were a reflection of the man he was—diligent, creative, and always willing to lend a hand.
Hub's life was one of quiet perseverance, unwavering in the face of life's challenges and always ready to offer support to those in need. His presence was a comforting constant, and his ability to care for his family was unparalleled. He took great joy in the simple pleasures of life, and his legacy of love, hard work, and humor will continue to inspire all who knew him.
As we bid farewell to Hub Pierce, we remember a man whose life was as rich and sturdy as the wood he so lovingly shaped. Hub's memory will be cherished and honored, his stories retold, and his impact felt for generations to come.
