George Rompilla, Jr. Obituary George J. Rompilla, Jr., 52, of Slatington died Friday, April 26, 2024 at St. Lukes Hospital, Carbon Campus. He was the husband of Dawn (Butterbaugh) Rompilla who died August 24, 2023. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Carol A. Rompilla of Emmaus and George J. Rompilla, Sr. of Allentown. After attending Dieruff High School, George began a career in the security field most recently working as a security guard at Bear Creek Mountain Resort. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. A gifted athlete he played basketball and football in high school. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Survivors: Parents; brothers, Adam V. Rompilla and his wife Allison of Whitehall, James W. Rompilla of Allentown; nephew, Adam V. Rompilla, Jr.; nieces, Felicia Rompilla, Morgan Rompilla, Jasmine Rompilla; father-in-law, Robert Butterbaugh, Sr. of Allentown; brother-in-law, Robert Butterbaugh, Jr. and his wife Kelly; sister-in-law, Cheryl Ann Butterbaugh.
