George Chakef Obituary George Chakef, of Allentown, passed away at the age of 67 on October 24, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 20, 1957, in the beautiful country of Syria, George brought a lifetime of joy, laughter, and craftsmanship to those who were fortunate enough to know him. George's journey led him to build a life rich in love and community. His beloved wife of 38 years, Waffa Chakef of Allentown, stood by his side in a marriage that was a testament to devotion and mutual respect. Their family grew to include their cherished children: Elias Chakef and his wife Emma of Whitehall, Roua and her husband Dr. Tony Ohanian of Bethlehem, and Rawad Chakef of Allentown. George was a pillar of strength and wisdom for his siblings Monzer, Nabil, Marwan, and Sue. He was the proud Jido to his grandchildren, George, Noah, Briella, and Lyanna. George was predeceased by his father Elias Chakef, his mother Jemealie Chakef, and his sisters Rowayda and Najah. Professionally, George was a respected self-employed contractor in the construction industry. His handiwork and dedication to his craft were evident in every project he undertook. George took great pride in the structures he built and renovated, knowing they would stand as a testament to his attention to detail and hard work. An active member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Allentown, George's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He served his community with the same steadfastness that he applied to every other aspect of his life. His commitment to his faith community was unwavering, and his presence there will be deeply missed. George had a profound love for the outdoors. He found peace and contentment in the simple pleasure of a fishing rod in hand, surrounded by the beauty of nature. He was happiest when he was outdoors, whether he was casting a line into a tranquil lake or simply enjoying the company of his loved ones on a sunny afternoon. Above all, George was a family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. His role as a husband, father, grandfather, and brother was the one he cherished most. The strength of his love and the warmth of his guidance were the foundation upon which his family was built.
