Gary L.
Huff
Sep 22, 1942 — Mar 30, 2026
The patriarch of our family, Gary Lee Huff, 83, of Allentown, formerly of Center Valley, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026. He was the husband of the late Dawn D. (Stringer) Huff. Gary was born in Allentown, son of the late Harry E. and Georgine H. (Dutter) Huff.
Gary attended William Allen High School as part of the Class of 1960, where he met his future wife, Dawn. He was employed by Mack Trucks in Allentown and Macungie until his retirement. Given Gary's work at Mack Trucks, he was a strong advocate for the importance of the United Auto Workers (UAW) and other unions. He was a skilled welder and was talented at building motorcycles and trailers, among other projects. Not only was Gary handy in that fashion, he also had a keen sense with numbers and enjoyed CryptoQuote games for relaxation.
In his younger years, Gary was passionate about racing stockcars (with car number 28) at Dorney Park Race Track and Grandview Speedway. Later in life, he channeled that same need for speed to snowmobiling in the Pocono Mountains where he found his dream cabin. He also valued memories of trips with family and friends to Florida, Lake Tahoe, Seattle, Yellowstone National Park and Alaska.
Gary's friends knew him for his gift of gab, and he loved nothing more than spending hours in conversation with his friends or anyone who would listen to him. His most steadfast companions were his beloved Soft-coated Wheaton Terriers, with whom he loved watching Philadelphia Eagles games.
Gary spent a lifetime working hard and playing hard, and we know that he will find rest and eternal peace now.
Gary is survived by his daughter Jamie L. Musolino and her husband Larry S.; sons Brett A. and Craig L. Huff; his nieces and nephews; grandchildren Nicholas and wife Akiko Chiba-Musolino, Katie and husband Jon Stern, Sarah, Tessa, C.J. and Mason; great-grandchildren Ella, Miles, Theodore, Sam and Julian. He was preceded in death by his brother, Craig D. Huff, and his niece, Kimberly (Huff) Satow.
Services: A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:30am at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery, 1851 Linden St, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Gary's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem, PA 18018. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
To honor Gary's love of animals, contributions may be made to Peaceable Kingdom Animal Shelter, 1049 MacArthur Rd, Whitehall, PA 18052.
