Obituary

Gail M. Beitelman, a beacon of inspiration, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, in Bethlehem, PA, at the age of 85. Born on December 27, 1938, in Allentown, PA, Gail's life was one of dedication to education, and a legacy of love that touched all those around her.

A proud graduate of Allentown High School, Gail's passion for learning and commitment to nurturing young minds led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Cedar Crest College in 1960. With her degree in hand, she embarked on a fulfilling career as a teacher in the Great Valley School District, where she left an indelible mark on her students, instilling in them a lifelong love for learning.

After retiring from education, Gail led an extremely successful career as an accomplished businessperson and entrepreneur owning, Beitelman Trucking, and alongside her beloved husband, Robert Sorensen, Quietcore Inc. Their partnership in business mirrored their deep personal connection, and together they shared fifteen years of marriage until Robert's passing in 1997.

Gail is survived by her daughter, Robin Sorensen of Bethlehem, PA, grandchildren, Patrick Carmody, William Carmody III, and Christina McShane and great-grandchildren, Kyla and Ashlyn Carmody, and Kellan McShane.

Gails parents, Kermit and Louise (Russiano) Beitelman, and her brother Thomas Beitelman, predeceased her. The values and work ethic they instilled in her were evident in the way she lived her life.

Her zest for life extended beyond her family and career. Gail was a lifelong cat lover who was devoted to her cats Kate and Pippa. She was an avid Eagles, Phillies and Indy car racing fan. Gail was also adedicated volunteer at the Lehigh Valley Hospital and the Allentown Art Museum, where she contributed her time and talents to better her community. Her efforts were a testament to her belief in the power of giving back and the importance of cultural enrichment.
