Obituary

Frederick Jeremiah Hawk, Jr., affectionately known as Butch, passed away on August 8, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was born on August 27, 1947, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Frederick Jeremiah Hawk, Sr. and Viola (Klotz) Hawk.

Butch, alongside his late wife Nancy Louise Hawk, was the owner of Strohl Sanitation, where he built a reputation for being dependable, dedicated, and hardworking. Outside of work, Butch found great enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. He was a member of the East Bath Rod and Gun Club and had previously been involved with the Panthers AA Bowling League and the NRA. He especially loved hunting, fishing, bowling, and camping, and he treasured the time spent outdoors. These interests were more than hobbies to him, as they reflected the kind of man he was, one who appreciated nature, companionship, and the satisfaction of time well spent.

SURVIVORS: Butch is survived by his stepchildren, Beth Kamowski and her husband Leon, Allen Strohl and his wife Wendy, Randy Strohl and his wife Kathy, and David Strohl and his wife Roxanne. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy. He was a cherished brother to Shirley Voorhees and her husband, the late Edward, Leroy Eugene Hawk and his wife, the late Sherie, and Pauline Croisette and her husband Earl "Gil". In addition to his parents, Butch was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy Louise Hawk on April 16, 2026, and sister and her husband Bertha and James Trexter.
