Obituary

Filomena Anna "Phyllis" Migliore, age 71, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus. She was born on February 2, 1955, in Somerset, NJ, to the late Genaro and Carmela (DeJoseph) Toto. Phyllis grew up in a bustling household that laid the foundation for her lifelong love of family and celebration.

Phyllis attended St. Peter's High School, where she first demonstrated her natural leadership qualities and ability to bring people together. Continuing her education at Raritan Valley Community College, she developed the skills that would lead to a successful career in banking. Her professional life was marked by the same dedication and care she showed in her personal endeavors.

Phyllis married the love of her life, Salvatore "Sal" Migliore, and together they shared 36 years of unwavering partnership, filled with laughter, love, and mutual support. Her brothers, Frank Toto and Anthony Toto with his wife Gabriella, and sister-in-law MaryAnn Toto remember her as a beacon of strength and kindness. Although she was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Joseph Toto and Angela Lutzky, Phyllis's spirit continues to inspire her many loving nieces and nephews, who affectionately referred to her as Aunt Phyllis or "AP."

Known as the 'Guru of Holiday Dinners', Phyllis' home was a hub of festivity and joy throughout the year. Her talent for seasonally decorating her home was unmatched, and she took great pleasure in crafting a warm and inviting atmosphere for all who entered. Her family fondly recalls memories of going skiing, where Phyllis once broke her leg by skiing into a fence, but still managed to drive everyone home safely—a testament to her resilience and care for her loved ones.

Phyllis' voice was a familiar and cherished sound whether singing "Grandma's Feather Bed" with her nieces and nephews, or making her signature Happy Birthday calls that never failed to make the recipient feel special. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her active membership at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where she found solace and community.

Phyllis' life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of devotion to family, faith, and an enduring capacity to find joy in every moment. Her legacy is one of love and the countless happy memories she created for those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a woman who lived her life with an open heart, a generous spirit, and an infectious smile that could light up the darkest room.
