Obituary

Edward R. Stull, Sr., age 89, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on June 30, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospice, in Allentown, PA. Born on July 15, 1936, in Fountain Hill, PA, he lived a long and meaningful life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a steady presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Edward was a man who took great pride in the life he built through dedication and perseverance. He worked as a truck driver for 40 years with Bethlehem Steel, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dependable nature. Through decades of service, he became known as someone who could be counted on, and he carried that same reliability into every part of his life. Retirement did not slow his spirit, and he continued to enjoy the simple routines and interests that brought him comfort and satisfaction.

He had many interests that reflected his practical and easygoing personality. Edward enjoyed shooting pool, and he also loved to fix things and tinker around, always finding purpose in a project and satisfaction in making things work again. He was also a faithful attendee of Life Church, where he found fellowship and spiritual encouragement. These parts of his life brought him joy and were a reflection of the man he was, steady, thoughtful, and content in the company of those around him.

Edward was deeply devoted to his family and took great pride in them throughout his life. He is survived by his partner, Dorothy Flurer of Bethlehem; his children, Edward Stull Jr. and his wife JoAnne of Bethlehem, Susan Chase and her husband Jeffery of Allentown, Roger Stull and his wife Susan of Hellertown, and Brian Stull and his wife Candace of Lehighton. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, each of whom was a treasured part of his legacy. His family will remember him for his presence, his strength, and the lasting example he set through his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Betty Jane (Kibler) Stull, whose memory remained an important part of his life. He was also predeceased by his parents, Harry Clark Stull and Cathrine (Whitman) Stull, as well as his siblings, Eleanore Schroeter, Harry Stull, Margaret Hawk, and Kathrine Bollecz. Their absence was felt throughout his life, and now he is reunited with them in eternal peace.
