Douglas
Field
Nov 16, 1962 — Apr 12, 2026
Douglas "Doug" Field, 63, passed away on Sunday April 12th surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 16, 1962, he was the beloved son of Arthur "Wally" Field and the late Sondra Chapman. Doug was the devoted husband of Tracy Field and the loving father of his daughter, Casey Field, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Jeff Field and Ryan Field and his wife, Corinn, along with extended family and many friends.
Doug found great joy in music and art. A devoted fan of the Grateful Dead, he famously mail-ordered concert tickets, including hand-drawn artwork on the envelopes to improve his chances of securing tickets - an effort that paid off many times over, creating unforgettable experiences for him and his friends. His artistic talent was widely recognized, with his work displayed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, New York Historical Society Museum, Arete Gallery, and in People magazine's special tribute issue to Jerry Garcia, who along with Bob Weir, is surely welcoming him now to an endless jam session.
Doug passed the time listening to and collecting music, perfecting his fantasy football team, watching Flyers hockey or Penn State football, planning the next concert to see, and spending time with family and friends - each of whom he gifted a nickname. He will be remembered for his quick wit, vast knowledge, remarkable sense of direction, uncanny ability to know the words to any song, and of course, his famous chocolate chip cookies and mac and cheese.
Doug built a wide circle of lifelong friendships and the relationships he built over the years were a true reflection of the kind of person he was. Above all, his greatest love was always his daughter, wife, and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
