Donald Smith Obituary Donald E. "Smitty" Smith, 93, formerly of 2615 Lafayette Ave., Bethlehem and Atria, Bethlehem died Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Daisy (Freere) Smith who died June 11, 2008. Born in Allentown, Donald joined the United States Army serving in Korea after graduation from high school. After arriving home from the service, he began his career as a truck driver throughout the Lehigh Valley. In his spare time, he enjoyed singing, playing bean bags with his family, long walks, hiking and especially jeep riding. A connoisseur of chocolate milk, Donald loved peanut butter ice cream and tasty cakes. He volunteered for many years at Holy Family Manor where he considered the employees and residents as family. Survivors: Grandchildren, Heather Ehrgott, Megan Desthers, John A. Brandle III, Brittni Nishimura and Kyle Nishimura; great grandchildren, Autumn, Jeremiah, Gloriana, Micah and Matthew; nephew, Neil Smith. He was predeceased by his daughters, Linda L. Brandle, Grace S. Nishimura, Gloria Ehrgott and granddaughter, Ryan Suzanne Brandle. Service: Graveside Service 10:00AM Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall.
