Obituary

Debra Ann Englert, a cherished soul and beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg. Born on May 9, 1954, in Allentown, Debra lived a vibrant life that touched the hearts of many.

A proud graduate of Dieruff High School, Debra went on to dedicate many years of service to Guardian Life, from which she later retired.

Family was the heart of Debra's world. She is survived by her loving mother, Rose Marie Heckman; her devoted son, Ehren Englert; and her sisters, Karen Heckman, Christine Bays and her husband Dilbert, Kathy Heckman, and Diane Suba and her husband John. She was preceded in death by her father, Grant Heckman, and her brother, Allen Heckman.

Debra's zest for life was evident in everything she did. She was a passionate NASCAR fan, especially of Tony Stewart, and found great joy in visiting the many social clubs around the Lehigh Valley, where she was always greeted with smiles and laughter. Weekend getaways to the Poconos brought her peace and happiness, and she was a loyal Washington Redskins fan through and through.
