Deborah L.
Held
Sep 10, 1953 — Oct 6, 2026
Deborah L. Held, 73 of Bethlehem, known lovingly to family and friends as Debbie, passed peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Born on September 10, 1953, in Allentown, Debbie was the daughter of the late Cletus and Helen (Gresser) Held. She was a graduate of William Allen High School.
Debbie devoted most of her working life to PPL, where she worked for over 40 years. Her long career reflected not only her professional skill, but also her strong work ethic and commitment to doing her best in all that she undertook.
Outside of work, Debbie found great joy in the things she loved. She had a passion for restoring old homes and took pride in bringing new life and character to them. She was a member of the Old Allentown Preservation Association, reflecting her appreciation for the history, architecture, and character of the community she called home. Debbie also loved the beach and was always looking forward to her next trip to the shore. She cherished the opportunity to spend time there, making memories with family and friends and enjoying the peace and beauty of the ocean.
An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, Debbie enjoyed cheering on her team and sharing the excitement of game days with family and friends. She was a fun-loving person who knew how to enjoy life and bring happiness to those around her. Above all, she treasured the people in her life. She loved being with her family and cherished time spent together, whether during everyday moments or special gatherings. Her friends were truly her world, and she nurtured those relationships with loyalty, warmth, and a generous heart. Debbie was deeply loving to all who knew her and had a special way of making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her laughter, warmth, and genuine affection will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Debbie was a loving sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and genuine care touched many lives. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Heffner and her husband, David, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Pamela Snyder and her husband, Robert, of Ashland, Pennsylvania; her nieces and nephews, David D. Heffner and his wife, Trisha, Jessica Dyess and her husband, Jerry, Sally Sumrall and her husband, Joe, Ryan Snyder and his wife, Samantha, and Renee Reeder and her husband, David; as well as many extended family members and loving friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Cletus and Helen Held, and her beloved niece, Raquel Snyder.
At Debbie's request, no services will be held. In her memory, her family and friends are encouraged to celebrate her life in the ways she would have loved: watch an Eagles game, take a trip to the beach, gather together, laugh often, and continue to share the stories and memories that made Debbie so special. Though her absence leaves a deep void, the memories she created, the friendships she cherished, and the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
