Davina
Gallich
Oct 23, 1950 — Feb 9, 2025
Davina K. Gallich, a cherished soul known for her warm smile and generous heart, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. Born on October 23, 1950, in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, Davina's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family, her work, and her community.
Davina's early years in Coaldale laid the foundation for a life full of love and service. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jesse C. and Bertha J. (Stout) Krapf. May 23, 1987, Davina married the love of her life, Rudolph "Rudy" W. Gallich, and together they built a life filled with joy and companionship. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect.
A talented and driven individual, Davina followed her passion for beauty and care by attending Empire Beauty School. Her skills and entrepreneurial spirit led her to a successful career where she worked at Holiday Hair for 30 years, bringing joy and confidence to countless clients. Furthermore, her dedication to her community shone brightly as she served as a tax collector for Freemansburg for 20 years, a role in which she was deeply respected and trusted. Davina's entrepreneurial journey reached its pinnacle when she opened Davina's Beauty Salon in Freemansburg. For 20 years, she owned and operated the salon until her well-deserved retirement. Her professionalism and warmth turned first-time clients into lifelong friends, and her salon became a local hub of friendship and beauty.
Davina's faith was an essential part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her actions and the way she lived her life, always putting others before herself and offering support and kindness to all.
Davina's interests were as varied as they were fulfilling. She found great pleasure in sewing, a skill that she mastered with the same precision and artistry that she applied to every aspect of her life. Her love for canning and baking resulted in a kitchen filled with the aromas of delicious preserves and treats that she joyfully shared with family and friends. Additionally, Davina's green thumb was evident in the lush plants and vibrant flowers that thrived in her beloved greenhouse.
She was a loving matriarch to a large and adoring family. In addition to her to husband, Davina is survived by her step-children, Kimberly Gallich-Nguyen of Laury Station; Lisa Casper and husband Anthony of Schickshinny; Tabatha Welty and husband Greg of Leeton, MO; Kevin W. Gallich and wife Ilze of Freemansburg. She was a guiding light and source of boundless love for her 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Davina also leaves behind her caring brothers, David Krapf and his wife Maxine, and Donald Krapf and his wife Patricia. They, along with her many nieces and nephews, will remember her for her unwavering support and deep affection. She is preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Bedard, with whom she now rests in peace.
