David Martinez (Bito), 73, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 13, 2026. He was born on November 1, 1952, in Humacao Puerto Rico, the son of the late Apolonio Martinez Mercado and the late Dorotea Garcia Ramos.

David gave 32 years of dedicated service to St. Luke's Hospital, where he worked in

Environmental Services. He was the kind of man who made wherever he went feel a little warmer. He loved to cook traditional Spanish food, and anyone who sat at his table knew they were being cared for. Neighbors and friends throughout the community knew his face and his smile, and he knew theirs. For David, none of it mattered more than family. They were his world, plain and simple.

He had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged, and that is the gift he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his father, Apolonio Martinez Mercado; his mother, Dorotea Garcia Ramos; and twelve of his beloved brothers and sisters.

David is survived by his wife, Doris M. Martinez; his children, Brenda Hilarion,

Madeline Alicea, and David Martinez Jr.; and his grandchildren,

Paul, Naidelyn, Alexander, Jaileen, Julianna, Joscelyn, Jussuly, and Crystal; and his great-grandchildren, Adalee, Leniel, Yaniel, Yazel, and Dylan, with one more on the way.

He will be remembered with love by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Services : A viewing will be held on Friday, June 19th, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20th 2026 at Holy Saviour Cemetery, 2575 Linden St, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
