Charles David Massey Obituary Charles David Massey, 66, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, while in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Easton on March 24, 1958, to Linda Lou (Dressler) Massey and the late Charles E. 'Chot' Massey, David's life was a testament to the bonds of family, the joy of passion, and the value of hard work.
A proud graduate of Easton High School, class of 1976, David further honed his skills by attending technical school, where he excelled and laid the foundation for his successful career.
David, known affectionately as the 'MacGyver of a car,' was a man whose hands were rarely still. His work as a mechanic was not just a job but a calling, where he could blend his love for cars with his innate ability to solve any mechanical puzzle. He carried this same dedication into his managerial roles at National Freight, ETI, Trans-Bridge and Penn Power Group, where his leadership and expertise were deeply valued.
David's heart, however, belonged to his beloved wife, Michele (Kehley) Massey. Together, they celebrated over 39 years of loving marriage, a union that was blessed with three sons: Kyle (Nicole), Taylor (Jessica), and the late Trevor Logan Massey. The joy of his life was further multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Ryker, Gage, and Blake, who will carry forward the legacy of his kindness and spirit.
Family was the cornerstone of David's world, and he was a cherished brother to Diana L. Droesch, Cynthia L. Hart, and the late Bruce E. Massey. His role as a fun-loving uncle to his nieces and nephews ensured that his presence at family gatherings was always a source of laughter and warmth.
David's passion for golf was nearly as legendary as his mechanical skills. The golf course was his sanctuary, a place where he found both challenge and relaxation, often sharing this love with friends who became an extended family over countless rounds under the sun.
David's family takes comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his son Trevor, father Charles and brother Bruce, and that his story will be told with smiles and fond remembrance.
