Charles Franklin
Hein
May 26, 1971 — Jan 2, 2026
Charles Franklin Hein, affectionately known as Chas, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 54.
Born May 26, 1971 in Easton, Pennsylvania, Chas was the son of the late Roy Feflie and Kathryn Hein.
Chas proudly served his country as a United States Marine Corps veteran with combat roles in Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War. Following his military service, he built a respected career as operations manager at Americold where his leadership, strong work ethic, and integrity earned him admiration from colleagues.
An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Chas found great joy in fishing and hunting with his two sons. He was a loyal fan of Penn State football and the Chicago Bears, and his love of sports extended to his volunteer roles as a soccer coordinator and coach for Midway Manor. He was an avid traveler cherishing family vacations and he loved sharing stories of his adventures with family and friends.
Chas is survived by his wife, Lisa Peters Hein; sons Tyler (Maria) and Braden Hein; siblings Terry Brunner, Tonya Hein, Brian Hein, and Frankie Hein; and many friends, his extended family, and coworkers, whose lives he enriched. Posthumously, he gave the gift of life through his organ and tissue donations.
He will be deeply missed, yet the memories of his kindness, strength, and love will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
