Obituary

Charles "Chas" Breidinger, 71, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at his home on August 14, 2026. He was the loving husband of Mary (Foschetti) Breidinger, with whom he shared more than 45 years of marriage.

Born on October 12, 1954, in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late John and Doris (Elliot) Breidinger. Chas was a lifelong Bethlehem resident and a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1972.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished the time he spent with Mary, his son, Cory Charles Mantz, and his grandson, Adrian Mantz. He was always proud of his family and enjoyed being there for them. He is also survived by his step children Rob Cooper and Tiffany Plebani; siblings, Ruth Delvecchio and George Goeppert; sister-in-law, Frances Campanella; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John L. Breidinger, III and Bill Goeppert.

Chas worked for more than 27 years with the United States Postal Service before retiring. He later worked part time for Enterprise, where he enjoyed staying busy and meeting people.

Chas loved sports and was a talented athlete. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, softball, rugby, and especially golf. He was proud of his seven hole-in-ones and loved the challenge of the game as much as the time spent with friends on the course. One of his greatest joys was coaching his son and grandson in Little League in Bethlehem. He loved being on the field with them, sharing what he knew, encouraging them, and simply spending time together.

Chas will be remembered as a good husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was easygoing, dependable, and enjoyed the simple things in life. He worked hard, loved his family, enjoyed sports, and always made time for the people who mattered most.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Chas' arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lehigh County Humane Society, 640 Dixon St., Allentown, PA 18103.
