Obituary

Carmen Torres, 88, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply. Born on September 25, 1936, in Puerto Rico, she was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel and Emelia Colon, and the devoted wife of the late Miguel A. Torres.

Carmen worked for many years as a seamstress, pouring care and detail into every stitch—much like the way she lived her life: thoughtfully and with love. A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she found strength, comfort, and lasting friendships.

Her home was always filled with warmth—whether through the delicious meals she lovingly prepared, often inspired by her favorite cooking shows, or the vibrant beauty of the plants and flowers that brightened every corner. Cooking and gardening were not just hobbies for Carmen; they were heartfelt expressions of her love for family and her joy in caring for others.

Carmen's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her kindness, steady presence, and unconditional love were a source of strength for all who knew her. She will always be remembered for her gentle heart and the legacy of love she leaves behind.

Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jeanette Martinez, Joanne Torres, Nanette Delgado and her fiancé Jeff, and Angel Torres; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by extended family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her son, Miguel Torres Jr.; her grandson, Heriberto Beltran; and her son-in-law, Nicolas Martinez.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
