Obituary

Betty J. Fenicle, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, at the age of 88 in her hometown of Bethlehem, PA. Born on December 3, 1936, to the late Phillip Schafer and Martha (Unangst) Schafer Farra, Betty lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a legacy of love and creativity.

Betty was the beloved wife of Glenn E. Fenicle, Sr., with whom she shared 36 years of marriage until his passing in 1992. Together, they built a family founded on warmth and affection. Betty is survived by her five devoted daughters: Linda and husband John Racz of King City, OR; Cheryl Fenicle of Allentown, PA; Kelly and husband Scott Cramsey of Allentown, PA; Kim Fenicle of Allentown, PA; Diane Liros of Bethlehem, PA; and one son Glenn E. Fenicle, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Bethlehem, PA. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Preceded in death by her siblings, Phillip Schafer, Wilburt Schafer, Carolyn Lintner, and Margaret Sattler, Betty was the last leaf on her family tree. Her presence will be deeply missed by her extended family and all who knew her.

A graduate of Liberty High School, Betty dedicated her life to creating a loving home as a homemaker. She was a beacon of strength and support, always putting the needs of her family first and ensuring that her home was filled with laughter and kindness. Betty's nurturing spirit was also felt within her community, where she was an active and respected member.

Betty's faith was an essential part of her life. She was a long-time member of the former St. Matthews Lutheran Church, where she participated in various church activities. Her commitment to her faith and church community was unwavering and served as an inspiration to many.

An avid artist and crafter, Betty had a passion for creating beauty in the world. Her artistic talents were evidenced in the countless pieces of art and craftwork that she lovingly made and shared with friends and family. Reading was another of Betty's joys, and she could often be found with a book in hand, lost in the pages of a captivating story.

Betty's zest for life extended to her involvement in social groups such as the Red Hat Society, Silver Sneakers, and Altar Guild. Her energy and enthusiasm for these groups brought her much joy and companionship. She also served her community at the Northampton County Election Polls, where her dedication to civic duty was evident.

Betty's life was marked by her genuine kindness, her creative spirit, and her unwavering commitment to her family and faith. Her legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. Betty's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her memory will be cherished and celebrated forever.
