Obituary

Benjamin Fiore, who was born on July 7, 1934, in Washington, New Jersey, and passed away on May 11, 2026, in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, lived a long and accomplished life marked by devotion to family, service, hard work, and a wide range of interests that brought him joy throughout the years.

Benjamin grew up in Washington, New Jersey, where he attended Washington High School and distinguished himself early as a state champion wrestler. His athletic ability, discipline, and determination were evident from a young age and would remain hallmarks of his character throughout his life. He went on to attend Lehigh University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1956. While at Lehigh, he continued to excel as a wrestler and also participated in ROTC, reflecting both his competitive spirit and his sense of duty.

Following his education, Benjamin served in the Army, beginning a lifelong pattern of commitment and responsibility. He later built a successful professional career in engineering and management, working first at United Engineers and then at Raytheon before continuing his career in Princeton, New Jersey, where he ultimately retired. He began as a project manager and mechanical engineer and, through skill, leadership, and dedication, rose to the position of Vice President. His work reflected his intelligence, diligence, and ability to earn the respect of those around him.

Benjamin was a man of many interests and talents, and he embraced life with enthusiasm. He was a skilled winemaker, a member of the Senior Softball League in Hatfield, and an avid participant in tennis and golf. He enjoyed time with the Philadelphia Ski Club and the sailing club, and one of his great pleasures was sailing on Lake Nockamixon. He and Sandy especially loved the Chesapeake Eastern Shore, Oxford and St. Michaels, where he found peace and enjoyment in the beauty of the water and the charm of the region. He treasured history and had a deep appreciation for tradition, which was reflected in one of his favorite anniversary customs, when he would travel to Williamsburg to march behind the drums on Veterans Day.

Those who knew Benjamin will remember his steady presence, his accomplishments, and the many ways he enriched the lives of others. He was a man who valued family, honored his commitments, and pursued his interests with energy and pride. His life was one of purpose, achievement, and enduring affection for the people and places he loved.
