Armando
Villafane Matias
Dec 24, 1948 — Mar 14, 2025
Armando Villafane Matias, 76, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 24, 1948, in Moca, Puerto Rico, he was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
Armando proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his dedication to duty and service. After his honorable discharge, he embarked on a career as a skilled welder, a trade he practiced with precision and pride for over 26 years until his well-deserved retirement. His work ethic and craftsmanship were admired by all who worked alongside him.
He found his soulmate in Maria Santiago, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: daughter Carol Villafane and her husband Daryl, Armando Villafane, Jr. and his wife Shannon and Jonathan Villafane and his wife Iesha. Armando's role as a father was one, he cherished deeply, guiding his children with a gentle hand and a generous heart.
Armando's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Shanice, Daryl, Jr., Sadie, Martin, Adrian, and Eli. He reveled in his role as a grandfather, imparting wisdom, sharing stories, and creating memories that his grandchildren will treasure forever. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and his legacy of love will continue to flourish in their lives.
A devout member of Jehovah's Witnesses, Armando's faith was a guiding light throughout his life. He lived his beliefs with conviction and kindness, touching the lives of many within his spiritual community.
Armando's passions extended beyond his family and faith. Armando found joy in fishing, working on cars, and cheering passionately for the New York Mets.
Armando is survived by his beloved wife, Maria, his children, grandchildren, three brothers, and four sisters. Each family member carries a piece of his spirit, his love, and his teachings. His absence will be deeply felt, but the warmth of his presence will continue to embrace them.
Armando Villafane Matias lived a life of purpose and joy. His journey was one of love, faith, and family. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the enduring impact he has made on all of us. His story does not end here, for he lives on in the cherished memories we hold and in the legacy of love he leaves behind.
