Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Giannantonio, 86, of Bethlehem passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Born to the late Cono and Lucy Giannantonio, Tony was raised in Palisades Park, New Jersey, where he attended Leonia High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard before beginning the next chapter of his life. Following his military service, he met the love of his life, Patricia (Donegan) Giannantonio, with whom he built a beautiful family. They remained devoted to one another through life's many blessings and challenges.

A man of deep Christian faith, Tony's relationship with Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. He found great joy in attending church, participating in Bible studies, and singing in the church choir. His faith was evident not only in his words but also in his actions, as he welcomed others into his home, offered encouragement freely, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Tony believed life's greatest blessings were found in the moments spent with family. He created cherished memories during annual vacations to the Jersey Shore, thrilling trips to Great Adventure and Action Park, and countless adventures exploring state parks. Through these trips he fostered a love of crabbing, nature, and the outdoors in his children. He also took immense pride in cheering on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events.

Known affectionately by many as "Malone," Tony had an infectious personality and never met a stranger. Blessed with the "gift of gab", he loved sharing colorful stories from his life, often entertaining anyone willing to listen. He enjoyed searching flea markets for hidden treasures and took pride in negotiating the perfect deal. In the kitchen, Tony was always willing to try a new recipe or create something unique, finding great happiness in preparing meals to share with family and friends. Many mornings were spent with his breakfast buddies at the local diner, where the coffee was plentiful and the conversation even more so.

Above all else, Tony treasured his family. Holidays, weekend dinners, backyard barbecues, and simply gathering together were among his greatest joys. His humor, generosity, and steadfast faith touched the lives of all who knew him.

Tony was the beloved husband of Patricia Giannantonio. He was the loving father of Anthony Giannantonio and his wife, Erica; Lucinda Pastorello and her husband, Anthony; Kevin Giannantonio and his wife, Kimberly; and Amy Giannantonio and her husband, Brian Pysher. He was a proud and devoted Papa to Rebekah, Anna, Leah, Christian, Peyton, Nathanael, Brianna, Liam, Logan, Ryan, Victoria, Kevin, Nicolas, and Ella. He is also survived by many cherished extended family members and dear friends, including Cathy, Cosmo, Lucy, Stacey, Leslie, and countless others whose lives were enriched by his friendship.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his beloved son, Joseph Giannantonio, and his sister, Rosemarie Giannantonio.

Tony will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love of family and friends, and his remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. While his presence will be deeply missed, the countless memories he created and the values he instilled will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love him.

A Celebration of Tony's Life will be announced at a later date. Tony's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
