Obituary

Allen F. Service Sr., of Riegelsville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026. He was born January 3, 1945, the son of B. Ellis and Dorothy May Service.

A natural sportsman, Allen excelled at tennis, horseback riding, and ice skating, embracing both the competition and camaraderie that sports provided. He was a graduate of Perkiomen Prep School and attended Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire. He later served two years in the U.S. Army, including a tour of duty in South Korea.

Allen was a skilled contractor and also worked as a foreman. He often took on projects that required patience and precision. He also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. He found a sense of freedom on the open road riding his motorcycle and had a particular appreciation for architecture, photography, craftsmanship, and history.

Allen will be remembered for his independent spirit and adventurous nature, as well as for the many interests, passions, and experiences that made his life uniquely his own.

Allen is survived by his son, Allen Service Jr., and his wife, Dionne; his daughter, Corinne; his sister, Dorothy Cochrane, and her husband, Curtis; his granddaughter, Brittany Joseph, and her husband, Doug; and his grandson, Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce. He is also survived by extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by his presence.

Services : A graveside committal service will take place on Friday, November 6, at 1 p.m. at Nisky Hill Cemetery, followed by a private gathering for immediate family.
