Ronald E. Geary, 73, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was the husband of Carol (Becker) Geary, with whom he shared almost 50 years of loving marriage.
Born in Scranton, Ron was the son of the late Vincent and Laura (Pussini) Geary. He served his country in the US Army, and worked most of his life in law enforcement. He was a railroad police officer for the Lehigh Valley Railroad and Conrail in the Lehigh Valley region, and then was the Commander of Railroad Police for CSX in the Newark, NJ, region. Family came first for Ron, and he also loved hiking in the mountains, skiing, and being outdoors. He enjoyed being helpful to others in a private way, and was "Mr. Fixit" to his family and friends. Ron was a member of Life In Christ Church, Bethlehem.
Survivors: wife Carol; daughter April Verta and her husband Christopher of Conway, SC; son Nick Geary and his wife Julie of Trexlertown; brother Bruce Geary and his wife Cheryl of Allentown; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Ron was predeceased by his sisters Nancy Philbin and Pamela Hoats.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Life In Christ Church, 51 Hillmond St., Bethlehem, 18018. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.longfuneralhome.com
