Robert F. Hercik

Robert F. Hercik, Sr., 74, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Gwen (Frey) Hercik, with who he shared 54 years of loving marriage. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Cmorey) Hercik. Bob worked for the Borough of Fountain Hill in the Public Works Department, retiring after 34 years, as Supervisor. After retiring, he was a funeral assistant at Cantelmi Funeral Home for 10 years. He was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church, where he had served on the Parish Council. His love of baseball led him to coach Fountain Hill Little League, St. Ursula CYO, and Freedom High School. Bob enjoyed traveling with his family, gardening, playing with the grandkids and was affectionately known as the chief "kiffle tester" during the holiday baking season. He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. Surviving: Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gwen; sons, Robert Jr. and wife Michele of Fountain Hill, Michael and wife Colleen, Christopher and wife Natalee all of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Robert III and fiancé Brittany, Haley Kloap and husband Joseph, Drew and fiancé Sarah, Ryan, Grace, and Lilly; brothers, Francis and wife Bonnie of Cape Coral, FL and Dennis and wife Kathy of Whitehall. He was predeceased by brother, Richard. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday September 5, 2017 at St. Ursula Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Fountain Hill. Calling hours will be held at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill on Monday from 6:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to Mass. His burial will take place at Bethlehem Memorial Park. A memory tribute may be made at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
