Robert R. Geist

Robert R. Geist, 93, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 15, 2017, while in the care of Kirkland Village and Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of the late Doris J. (Yaple) Geist, who passed away on September 28, 1993. Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Russell W. and Hattie I. (Caskie) Geist. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob worked as a Business Development Representative for PPL for 40 years, until retiring. He graduated from Slatington High School and Ursinus College where he played basketball. He was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at Ursinus for basketball. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Bob was an active member at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fountain Hill where he served on church council and other committees. Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Janet L. Maslany and her husband Paul; son Robert S. Geist all of Bethlehem; grandchildren Jennifer Ruiz of Royersford, Michael Sobieski of Whitehall, Zachary Maslany, Paul R. Maslany, Jenna Geist all of Bethlehem; 11 great-grandchildren. Services: A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday November 18, 2017 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1059 Delaware Ave. Fountain Hill, PA 18015, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM in church. His burial will be at Union Cemetery in Slatington. Bob's arrangements are entrusted to Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
