Richard Rentzheimer, 93, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Rose (North) Rentzheimer with whom he shared over 72 years of loving marriage. Born in Hellertown, he was the son of the late William and Bertha (Fluck). He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII. Richard worked as a welder for Airco for over 24 years until retiring. Later, he worked for the Bethlehem Area School District in the maintenance department. Richard was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and he was a lifetime member of the Fountain Hill Hose Company. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards and spending time with his family.
Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rose; daughters Gail Benincasa and the late Robert of Conshocken, Ann Newhall and her husband John of Hanover Township and Jean Crenko and her husband David of Fountain Hill; sisters Betty Sloyer of West Palm Beach, FL and Katherine Glagola of Salisbury Twp; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings Henrietta, Isabelle, Madelyn, Louise, Frances, John, William, David and Karl.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at St. Ursula Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Bethlehem, PA 18015 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9 A.M. until time of the mass. Burial will take place at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Richard's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill.
