Linda Ruhf Obituary

Linda Louise (Boyle) Ruhf, 65, of Bethlehem, died surrounded by family and friends in her home on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, after an extended illness. She was born May 7, 1953, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Norma (Boyle) Finch and Robert Boyle. Linda is survived by her husband of 35 years Theodore T. "Ted" Ruhf Jr. of Bethlehem. She was a Parkland High School graduate and attended Lehigh Carbon Community College. Linda was the former owner of Inspired by an Angel, a confection and gift shop in Hellertown, Pennsylvania. She loved putting a smile on the faces of people from across the Lehigh Valley through the sale of homemade chocolates and handmade crafts. Linda dedicated much of her life to advancing and making equal the overall athletic experience of countless student-athletes who attended Freedom High School. She was a founding executive board member of the Black and Gold Gridiron Club and former President of the Freedom High School All-Sports Booster Club. Linda was happiest planning a party or cooking meals for family and friends. She was always on-the-go and on the hunt for a deal. Whether she was traveling around the country cheering on her daughter Kaitlyn and the Wake Forest University Field Hockey team or visiting Orlando with her grandkids to enjoy all that Disney World had to offer, she put everyone's happiness ahead of her own. Linda had a zest for life that most people could only dream of and she lived her life on her own terms. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Linda is survived by her mother, Norma (Boyle) Finch of Allentown; her son, Christopher Durnin, his wife, Sydney, and their daughters, Isabelle and Jillianne of Bethlehem; son, Thomas Ruhf, his wife, Margaret, and their sons, Quincy and Jonah of Emmaus; daughter, Kaitlyn Ruhf, and her partner, Josh Suzuki, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; daughter, Laura (Ruhf) Bannon, her husband, John, and their daughters, Ella, Thea, and Amelia of Salisbury Township; and brothers, Bruce Boyle of Elijay, Georgia, and Mark Boyle of Allentown. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Boyle in 2005, and her step-father, David Finch in 2016; husband, William B. Durnin III, who died in 1982; her daughter, Lindsey Danielle Ruhf, who died in 1990; and her brother-in-law, Robert "Booner" Ruhf, who died in 2017.
