Lewis Schor Obituary
Lewis Schor, 95, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at St. Luke's VNA Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Nesha (Soffer) Schor, and with whom he shared 49 years of loving marriage until her death in 2013.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, Lew was the son of the late Sol and Lena (Benstock) Schor. He served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, and then returned home to become a teacher. Lew taught math in the Easton Area Schools for many years, and later was often acclaimed by his former students as one of their favorites. Lew was also an award-winning amateur photographer, and was a long term member of the Hillcrest Camera Club. He was a passionate bridge player, and was equally passionate about travelling with his wife in their RV, visiting 49 states in their lifetimes. Lew was a longtime member of Congregation Brith Sholom.
Survivors: stepsons Steven Soffer and his wife Paula of Houston, TX, Robert Soffer and his wife Doreen of Sharon, MA; grandchildren Jennifer Kaufman and her husband David, Jeffrey Soffer and his wife Allison, Rebecca Grossman and her husband Joshua, Hillary Seif and her husband David, and David Soffer; great-grandchildren Noah, Abby, Ariel, Jeremy, Ella and Maya; many loving nieces and nephews. Lew was predeceased by his wife Nesha, and his sisters Florence Shapiro and Henrietta Golub, and by his brothers-in-law Sam and Fred, respectively.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, February 19, at Congregation Brith Sholom, 1190 W. Macada Rd, Bethlehem, 18017, where friends may call from 1:00 PM until time of services. Burial will follow at Brith Sholom Cemetery, Fountain Hill.
