John Boncik Obituary

John Boncik, 73, of Bethlehem, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in his home. He was the loving husband of Anna (Martinka) Macek-Boncik, with whom he shared over 16 years of loving marriage. Born in Dlhé Nad Cirochou, in the former Czechoslovakia, he was the son of the late John and Helena (Burda) Boncik. John worked as a maintenance technician at Just Born Inc. for 15 years until retiring. Previously, he worked for Mack Trucks as a machinist. He loved singing, dancing, traveling, and was proud of his Slovak heritage. John was a member of the Coplay Saengerbund and was a parishioner of Incarnation of Our Lord Church, Bethlehem where he belonged to the Tatra Slovak Folk Group. He was a member of the choir at Holy Family Nazareth, Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Bethlehem, St. John the Baptist, Allentown, and also the Polka Mass choir.

SURVIVORS: In addition to his loving wife Anna, he will be remembered by his children Tanya Rogers and her husband Kevin, Cammy Georgiou, Mary Helena Gomes and her husband Claude, John Joseph Boncik and his wife Nicole all of Bethlehem, William Macek and his wife Dawn of Charleston, SC, Mark Macek and his wife Molly of Baltimore, MD, Erick Macek and his wife Laura of North Hollywood, CA; grandchildren Trevor Rogers, Cassie Rogers, Michael Georgiou, Nathan Macek, Joseph Macek, Michael Macek, Andrej Macek and Cole Macek; siblings Milan Boncik, Valika and Helena all of Slovakia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday January 5, 2018 at Incarnation of Our Lord Church, 617 Pierce Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015, where the viewing will be held from 10 A.M. until time of the Mass. Burial will follow at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Bethlehem. John's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Incarnation of Our Lord Church. If you choose to send flowers for the service, they may be sent to the church.
