Jeanne Suess Obituary
Jeanne L. (Schaffer) Suess, 96, of Bethlehem, entered into the nearer presence of her Lord and Saviour on Monday January 28, 2019, at Moravian Village Health Center, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Harold "Hal" Suess, who passed away in 2011, after 66 years of loving marriage.
Born in Bethlehem, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Oscar C. and Hattie L. (Faust) Schaffer. She was the co-owner and manager along with her husband of an apartment building. Jeanne was a devoted member of Edgeboro Moravian Church, where she served as an Elder and Sacristan, and was a member of the Women's Fellowship. She also helped with Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. Jeanne was an avid reader and birdwatcher, and also enjoyed playing golf. Her greatest love was raising her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
Survivors: children Dr. Gregory N. Suess of Annandale, VA, John Heart and his wife Barbara Carlton Heart of Glendale, CA, Kathy L. Emeigh and her husband Paul of Bethlehem, and Cheryl Ann Molinari and her husband Francis of Bethlehem; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Jeanne was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Margaret Tanghe Suess, and her 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services: A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 2, in the Atrium of Moravian Village, 526 Wood St., Bethlehem. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com
