Hilda Schlener Obituary
Hilda P. Schlener, 91, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Alfred Schlener, who died in 2015.
Born in Bethlehem, Hilda was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Damhosel) Pieller. She worked as a housekeeper for Lehigh University and for the Hotel Bethlehem. She had a zest for life, and enjoyed traveling to new places, as well as crocheting items for her family and friends. Hilda was a deeply devoted member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, who loved her children to the moon and back.
Survivors: children Ernest Pieller of Bethlehem, Alfreda Hawk and her husband Gregory of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Steven Schlener of Germany, Yvonne O'Rourke and her husband Bruce of Palmer Township, Eric Schlener of Slatington; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Hilda was pre-deceased by her husband Alfred, and her siblings Theresa Praczo, and Charles and Johnny Pieller.
Services: Viewing Hours will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening in the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, 18018. Interment will be private. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com
