Helen M. Hartzell

Helen M. Hartzell, 92, of Stroudsburg, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at the Gluco Lodge Personal Care Home in Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Hartzell, who passed away on December 3, 2001. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Gisela (Czor) Hujcs. Helen was a 1943 graduate of Liberty High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Helen enjoyed her flower and vegetable garden, and watching the birds on the feeder from her kitchen window. She was also known for her baking talents. Her greatest love, was spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Mary Ellen Paulus and her husband Barry of Bethlehem; granddaughters Cindy Christmann and her husband Adam of Canadensis, Jennifer M. Paulus and her wife Erika Feigles of Westminster, CO; great granddaughters Emma and Abby Christmann. In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was predeceased by her son Donald F. Hartzell, Jr. during the Vietnam War on February 26, 1970. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Gluco Lodge for their loving care during the past several years.
Services: A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday September 16, 2017 in the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, where friends may call from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
