Gertrude F. Kunsman, 106, of Bethlehem, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 surrounded by her loving family, while in the care of the Moravian King's Daughter's Home, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Earl W. Kunsman, Sr. who entered into eternal rest in 1973. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Franklin R. and Lillian C. (Sherrer) Carl. Gertrude attended Bethlehem schools. Gertrude was a member of the women's auxiliary of the Elks Club Lodge #191 where their charitable efforts were directed to Cerebral Palsy. She was also a member of the Bethlehem Business and Professional Women's Club. Gertrude was proud to have served as a board member and as the Chairman of the Motor Corp for the American Red Cross for 26 years where she transported patients including steelworkers and veterans to Philadelphia area hospitals. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bethlehem. Gertrude was devoted to her loving family and friends. She loved to crochet and gifted many treasures to family members. Gertrude was loved by all who knew her and was affectionally known as Gram and the Pie Lady.
Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Shirley K. Bilheimer of Bethlehem; son Earl W. Kunsman, Jr. and his wife Jean of Bethlehem; grandchildren Raymond Rhiel and his wife Andrea, Gary Rhiel and his wife Jan, Sandy Weidner and her husband Steve, and Judy Clark and her husband Pat; great-grandchildren Robert Rhiel and his wife Kelly, Corey McFadden and his wife Beth, Ryan McFadden and Tiffany, Megan McFadden, Kevin Weidner, Katelyn Rhiel, Jennifer Rhiel and Earl Kunsman IV; great-great-grandchildren Bridget, Charlotte, Evan and Isiah. Gertrude was preceded in death by her daughters Dorothy L. Rhiel and Jean M. Feher; grandson Earl W. Kunsman III and son-in-laws Raymond Rhiel and Harold F. Bilheimer.
Services: A Graveside Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday June 9, 2018 at Nisky Hill Cemetery 254 E. Church Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Gertrude's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
