Francis Toner Obituary
Francis J. "Fritz" Toner, Jr., 86, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018, at St. Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill.
Born in Bethlehem, Fritz was the son of the late Francis and Sophia (Prorok) Toner. He was an exceptional 3 sport athlete at Liberty High School, and a standout basketball player at Moravian College. He worked as a caseworker for Lehigh County for many years, and also coached basketball at Liberty High School, Moravian College and Northampton Community College. He was a member of the Sports Hall of Fame at Liberty High School, Moravian College, and in the Lehigh Valley. He was an avid golfer, with 2 hole-in-one's to his credit. Fritz was a life member of several area social clubs, including the North End Wanderer's Club, the Jefferson Democratic Club, the Heights AA, and the Bethlehem Volunteer Firemen's Home Association. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors: sister Carlyn Toner, with whom he resided; children David Toner (Darlene) of Laramie, WY, Tamra Magee (Robert) of Maple Shade, NJ, Kevin Toner of Bethlehem, Kim Deily (John) of Williams Township; the mother of his children, Shirley Toner of Bethlehem; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; companion Faye Tirpak of Coopersburg. Fritz was predeceased by his sister Bernadine Toner, and his wife Dolores Ianotti.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at Noon on Friday, April 6, 2018 in the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, where relatives and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. His burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. A memory tribute may be placed at www.longfuneralhome.com
