Eleanor Burkhardt Obituary

Eleanor M. Burkhardt, 91, formerly of Fountain Hill, passed away on October 27, 2018 in Livonia, Michigan. She was the wife of the late William J. Burkhardt. Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence K. and Anna S. (Schew) Hardenberg. Eleanor worked as a stenographer and a secretary for the Bethlehem Steel at Homer Research Laboratories from 1945 - 1985. She was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church, and the Golden Hillers. She enjoyed playing pinochle and was a member of the Muhlenberg Pinochle Club. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

SURVIVORS: She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Peter Burkhardt and wife Linda of Whitehall; Barry Burkhardt and wife Debra of Kunkletown; daughter Kim Marquette and husband David of Farmington Hills, MI; brother John Hardenberg of CA; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Hardenberg.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. Ursula's Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway Fountain Hill, PA 18015, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. Eleanor's arrangements are entrusted to Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill, PA 18015. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
CONTRIBUTIONS: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
