David Bonawitz Obituary
David E. Bonawitz, 63, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully at St. Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He was the loving husband of Lisa (Rose) Bonawitz, with whom he shared over 33 years of marriage.
Born in Fountain Hill, David was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Clark) Bonawitz. After graduating from Freedom H.S. class of ‘73 he attended Widener University, and was a member of the TKE fraternity. He worked as a bartender in several bars and clubs in the Lehigh Valley, including Your Welcome Inn and the West Side Rep.Club. He enjoyed playing golf, cooking for his family, and socializing with friends. David was an avid Dodgers & Raiders fan. He played in both Fantasy Baseball and Football Leagues. David will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors: wife Lisa; daughter Sarah and son Eric, both at home; brother Gary Bonawitz of Perkiomenville; sisters Susanne Miller and her husband Matthew of Bethlehem, Cara Szemenyei and her husband Donald of Hellertown; Lisa's parents, brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Services: Calling Hours will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday evening in the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, 18018, where friends can gather again at 10 AM on Wednesday morning. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com
