Christopher J. Abel

Christopher J. Abel, 48, of Allentown and formerly of Lower Macungie, passed away on Thursday June 28, 2018. He was the loving husband of Tara (Herstich) Abel with whom he shared 26 years of loving marriage. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of James and Barbara (Wickert) Abel. Chris was a graduate of Saucon Valley High School, class of 1988 where he was an avid wrestler. He worked as a Machinist at B&G Manufacturing for most of his life. Chris enjoyed traveling with his daughter's tournament teams and also was a softball coach for L.M.Y.A. He was a former member of Silver Creek Country Club. Chris was an avid golfer, S.E.C. Sports fan and University of South Carolina Gamecocks fan.

Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Tara; daughters Amber and Samantha Abel at home; parents James and Barbara of Bethlehem; grandson Sterling Christopher Abel; brother Michael Abel of Bethlehem; sister Stacy Abel Ownbey and her husband Jarrod of Pawleys Island, SC; in laws Anthony and Dianne Herstich of Hellertown; brother in law Anthony Herstich of Seminole, FL and many loving nieces and nephews.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 6 P.M. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 4 P.M. until time of service.
