Carmine Genni, 88, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday December 27, 2017 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Maria (DeAngelis) Genni, with whom he shared 58 years of loving marriage. Born in Priverno, Italy (Province of Latina), he was the son of the late Giovanni and Filomena (Supino) Genni. Growing up in Italy, Carmine lived and survived through WWII. After the war, as a stone mason, he was part of the reconstruction in Germany, France, and Switzerland. He, his wife, and 3 daughters immigrated from Italy to Bethlehem, PA in 1968. He worked as a stone mason for Ronca Contruction for many years until retirement. Carmine was a hard worker and loved his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed his families Sunday dinners, gardening, and telling stories of his youth in Italy.
Surviving: In addition to his loving wife Maria; daughters Rita Tozzi and her husband Jeffrey, Anna Derwinski and her husband Edward, Enza Berback and her husband Thomas all of Bethlehem; sister Olivia Genni of Latina, Italy; grandchildren Alissa and Alan Dunnavant, and Jonathan and Lauren Berback.
Services: A viewing will be held on Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM in the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, followed by a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18017. His entombment will take place at Holy Saviour Mausoleum. A memory tribute may be made at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
