Carl L. Tatay, 71, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Tatay with whom he shared over 47 years of loving marriage. Born in Hungary, he was the son of the late Karoly and Ethel Tatay. Carl was a graduate of City University of New York (CUNY) where he earned his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout his career, he was proud to hold a Professional Engineering (PE) license. In his retirement, he remained an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and served as secretary for the local Lehigh Valley Engineering Council. Carl was a dedicated Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem, PA. He also honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard.
Survivors: Carl is survived by his loving wife Maria, his son Stephen Tatay of New York, daughter Veronica and her husband Sean Whiting of Bethlehem, and son Michael Tatay of Forks Township. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Isabella and Collin Whiting. Carl was preceded in death by his siblings Eva Gutai and George Tatay.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA 18020. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 P.M. at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 and also on Monday morning from 9 A.M. until time of the Mass at the church.
