Elsie Oliveras, 70, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, surrounded by her loving family while in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospice. She was the loving wife of Ramon Cintron with whom she shared 53 years of a loving marriage. Born in Almacigo Alto in Yauco, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Serafin Oliveras Quiñones and Elena (Galarza) Oliveras. Elsie was a graduate of Monroe College in New York where she earned her degree in Computer Science. Elsie developed a career in fabric sales. She enjoyed 50 years in the tulle netting industry and spent over 40 of those years employed by Falk Fabrics in New York where she was immersed in her passion for fabrics. Elsie had an appreciation for fashion, an eye for style, and a love for flowers, colors, and textures.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband Ramon, she will be lovingly remembered by her children Migdalia Cintron of Pocono Summit, Arlene Vargas and her husband Jose of Allentown and Ricardo Cintron of Allentown; siblings Palmira Oliveras of Allentown, Norma Oliveras of Bronx, NY, Serafin Oliveras Jr. of Bronx, NY, and Manuel Oliveras of Bronx, NY and Richard Oliveras of Bronx, NY; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Elsie was preceded in death by her brother Edmundo Oliveras.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th Street, Bethlehem. Calling hours will be held on Sunday Afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA and also on Monday Morning from 9 A.M. until time of the Mass at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Elsie’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
