The Cantelmi Family has been in the Lehigh Valley for a better part of a century. Placido "Pat" Antonio
Cantelmi, an Italian immigrant, started his hardware business at 507
Fourth Street on the South Side of Bethlehem in 1922 after having spent
a few years working at a nearby paint store.
He and his wife Isabella, had 4 children, Louis, Geraldine and twins Dino and Isabella. His Son Louis and Grandson Rick continued the tradition at the hardware store. His other Son, Dino, started the Cantelmi Funeral Home in 1963 at his parents home on 203 E. Packer Avenue in Bethlehem. In 1964 he moved his Funeral Home to 1311 Broadway in Fountain Hill, where the building has been a Funeral Home since 1937. Along with his son, Dino, Jr., they continue to earn the trust and respect of families that they serve, one funeral at a time.
