Dorothy H. (Engle) Smith

Dorothy Hilda Smith, 89, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024. Born on June 11, 1934, in Baltimore, MD, she was the cherished daughter of the late John and Helen (Siminski) Engle.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Smith, and together they raised a family of loving children: Gregory Smith, Linda Gonzalez and her husband Jose, Frank Smith and his wife Theresa, Kathy Myers and her husband Sherman, and Sharon Smith. The joy of her life also included her adoring, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a precious great-great-grandson who all filled her days with laughter and love.

Dorothy was a faithful and proud member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, being a true believer in her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. During her professional years, Dorothy was a valued member of the Prudential Insurance claims department team. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting, and an animal lover at heart. Infamous for her impeccable timing, she never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy, and her phenomenal skills as a baker enriched family gatherings.

Services: A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
